Thread: Whats a good FREE 3gp converter

I'm sick of these stupid 45.99 prices to pay to convert a 3gp file to avi or whatever. Or if you dont pay it only does the first 10 seconds and will insert their logo.

Anyways, what is a good FREE converter to convert 3gp videos (off of the blackberry) to avi?

I would think be easier to find a codec to play them on your pc? If its possible

I used X Media Recode the other day. Worked fine for me. Been looking for others still. I can tell you from my experience so far that anything based on FFMPEG to do the transcoding will not work.

As far as getting a codec to play it on your computer without converting, I get all my codecs from http://free-codecs.com. Usually just grab the K-Lite mega pack.

Hey I am mobile but a nice site ti go to is give away of the day they give away stuff every day.. I have gotten a few software programs for free. Usually full versions but know support.

I don't know any free ones that actually are GOOD and reliable, but for what it worth, I bought Blackberry Video Converter by Nidesoft. This program is amazing, as I converted several movies and not a glitch or audio sync problem at all. You can make the quality in almost any way possible.


/edit: They also have the video converter that I bought and although I haven't tested out every possible combo, this program works wonders and THIS is what you might be looking for. Again its not free, and its not expensive either and it WORKS AWESOME!

You will find this site HandBrake . It works well but doesn't create 3gp, only mp4, mv4, mkv, avi, ogm. It's free...
