Thread: Palm Pre Rejected

In a post reported yesterday over at BoyGenius Report, it seems that Big Red has rejected the Palm Pre. The Pre was to be released in Q1 of 2009. While Verizon may have put the kibosh on the Pre AT&T is still a go for the handset. While the reason for the rejection is still unknown at this moment lets hope that the Pre will reach the largest network (by subscribers) in the United States.

Well, I can't say that I'm surprised. Actually this impresses me a little. The Pre just doesn't feel like a quality phone. Very poor build quality IMO. VZW passing on it really says to me that they are going to stick with quality products. Put a Tour or Storm next to the Pre and it's obvious. The quality just doesn't match up.

I so regret switching from my storm to the pre! Its a SLOW phone...and my hands/fingers are too big for this phone...the hardware is very flimsy! Im hoping for a storm 2 on Sprint!

sorry fpizzojr, looks like vzw has the storm line locked into to red colors.

I agree 100%, the palm pre would've been nothing but problems for Verizon.

There are reports coming out today debunking TheStreets original post of this - Analysts: We still expect a Verizon Pre next year | Between the Lines | ZDNet.com however noone from verizon nor palm has actually said anything so its all speculation right now

This is a BlackBerry site right? Why are we wasting space on the Pre not coming to Verizon? I'm sure there's at least 1 piece of BlackBerry news that could have filled this spot! :crackhead:

True, this is a Blackberry site. But we offer news on other interests too. Such as Verizon news. And if there is BB news then it will always be posted up. Doesn't matter if we have an article like the Pre News or not.

the pre sucks my buddys sister got it the first day it came out, what a joke, for a girl its cool, small looking phone small keys smallish screen (i only looked at it a few times)

You know it is funny you should mention that. My wife looked at one and she has acrylic nails. She said the keyboard was not "nail friendly" at all. So now I am kind of wondering who can use the darn thing :lmao:

lol my buddys sister got the long fake nails and uses it flawlessly thou looks likes its akward for her but she does it seamlessly , plus i dont see too many people using palm pres around

I think big red knows that the palm is a joke of a phone.

I feel bad for Palm as I know they worked hard to float...but it is not such a great phone...just quality feels cheap and plastic.
