In a further effort to clear inventory, Verizon has cut the price of the Blackberry Storm to $49.99. This happens while they are still running their Buy-One-Get-One FREE event. The Blackberry Storm 2 recently hit Verizon's inventory system and is rumored to be launched in Oct. I am sure the cut in price and BOGO will entice some, but personally, I would wait and get the Storm2, which comes with WiFi and an improved Surepress typing.

I happened to b at the store a few days ago and saw this deal and thought to myself "wow, that's a great deal especially if they have BOGO with it." and ur saying they do. Def. a great deal for those that want a BB and like touch screen

i was eligible for my 2 year upgrade a few days ago, so i went with the storm. i actually got the phone for free, although $100 of it was in the form of a mail-in rebate (no big deal imo). at first i thought it was on account that i receive a discount on service due to my father working for the state, but looking through my receipts, this doesnt appear to be the case. i did wait the full 24 months before upgrading from my previous phone.
i considered waiting for the storm 2, but im somewhat impatient when it comes to getting new toys, and i was pretty sure that i wouldnt receive the storm 2 for free.
Sounds like they are trying to unload storm 1, to get ready for the release of storm 2. It is a good idea if they have extra inventory.
