    i work for a phone company and we resell verizon wireless, well i JUST got the following email, glad we are on top of things at::

    Today is Thursday, August. At this time, we have experienced a 1X and EVDO Data service disruption report for the eastern market, in the MidAtlantic, Southeast, South Central, and Northeast regions of the U.S. that may affect service. Currently Verizon Wireless’ switch technicians are working to resolve this issue. The issue was first reported Thursday, August 13th at 3:54 pm EST.

    You should sign up for the dataoutages.com mailing list. Usually know if something is wrong even before there's a ticket number.
