    Issue with BBs service on verizon network?

    Did anyone have an issue with service on blackberrys on verizon network. I was with a group of people from 12:00 to 1 on 8/1 and all of our phones were going crazy and not maintaining good coverage and losing all reception. We all have different blackberries.

    Usually I find VZW to have the most consistent service of all carriers. What part of the US are you located in?

    I am in ny, ny. The network is back up now but it was just so random because I am getting messages from everyone now and it seemed everyone i know in my area thats on verizon had the same issue. And i do mean everyone. lol

    You guys were hit with pretty bad thunderstorms earlier. It's possible that this caused some towers to go down. I spent 5 years in NYC, and still travel there a lot on biz, and VZW's coverage is great there IMO. Just probably a temporary outage.

    It's funny, because I'm in NY and about the same time, I lost my service too. I thought it was the past due balance I owed,and that they shut my data off. Long story short, I paid the past due balance,and at 2,my service was back on...lol

    Good to know there could be blackouts in NY, I have to go upstate in October for my g/f's High School reunion in Fairport. I live on the west coast and have had NO blackouts or coverage issues thusfar. Even made it to the edge of the ocean once recently and still had 4 bars coverage, funny thing about that was NOBODY else (carriers) had any coverage on the beach, much less at the edge of the water at low tide... Sticking with Verizon, it may cost more, but I always have coverage.

    I have tried researching, and so far no body i have talked to (yesterday) has not had anything other than just trouble tickets known... some said it could be due to the merger being started in the east but I highly highly doubt that.. I think you guys are on the right track.. When I go back on monday I will get try to get some more answers... no one has had problems since have they?
