Another question, and maybe I'll create a new thread in another forum, would be how fast is the verizon 3g network on average. I had a vzw sales rep today tell me, define 3g, and I said better be 3 times faster than what I'm down/uploading at currently on tmo. Supposedly 3g to him meant a 3rd generation upgraded network and not remarkably faster. I so hope he's mistaken.

    What are your dl/up speeds?
I better make a new thread, but feel free to answer.

I live in Los Angeles and typically gets speed of 850kb upload and 500 download. The rep you spoke with did not have any idea what he was talking about. Verizon was I believe the first network to role out 3G, there's is called EVDO which was developed by Qualcomm (using CDMA technology).

That is pretty fast. Question, where youre on Verizon's 3g network what does it say on your phone on the right top corner, EVDO?

Ok, thats what I thought. I heard the term 'REV A' so for a minute I thought that was what you were suppose to see on the phone. Def a newb when it comes to cdma networks.

You're actually correct VZW has two variants of 3G, Rev 0 and Rev A. Rev 0 is what is currently on the 8330 and is a considerably slower than the new Rev A network that VZW has. Most new VZW devices uses Rev A like the Storm and Tour.
