Anyway thanks for the help and as a side note I believe my 'deal' is either VIP or due to the B.S. that I endurded through the first three storms that I purchased.

The other lines will not b able to upgrade til the normal 20 month term...its only the primary line. And it could b but just so u know. Anybody on a qualifying plan is a 'VIP' hope this was all helpful

No, we were actually talking about this earlier. In the future there may be a plan that comes out to have multiple blackberrys at a set price like family share for BB. As of currently even if you go on the connect or premium plan you will still have to carry the BB package on your two phones.

VIP is a term that has been used by some people regarding verizon accounts. I used it as a reference. That term has never been used by anyone at verizon in regards to my account. They just said since I have always paid my bills on-time I could get a primary line upgrade at the one year mark.

Hey jnepsa, I was an Alltel cust, now VZW. I have an ancient plan dating back to Cellone days before Alltel, that is fantastic and I don't want to let it go. I bought my storm and activated it on Alltel in March '09. Since the conversion, I have had data issues and VZW (4 techs, different stories) tells me that my phone "may or may not" work properly since I do not have a VZW bb plan. I told them it worked fine before the conversion and it feels like they want to kick me off my plan to get more money, less minutes, etc. One of the tech's said that the bb plan I have is exactly the same as VZW, the rest said no. I still have Alltel's host routing tables and my sip is "my number@alltel.net", the bb registration is still Alltel's and the sid # is still Alltel's. Should all of this info be changed to VZW's information? Sorry for the long post, but I can't seem to get a straight answer out of the tech support people. Thanks for your help! :crazy:

1) there should be no difference, unless your network is totally gone. all of the services still exist until the "do or die" date. merge into VZW plan or split

2) what benefits do you have with the old plan that you'll be losing? you might get something else in its place.

maybe they have some promotion they can add onto your account temporarily to help with the change.

Thanks patches I didnt get on at all yesterday. First if you could give me the details on your plan I could tell you if VZW has something to offer. I cant tell you that with alot of the new phones coming, you will have to change at some point. And I belive that you sid's , host routing and all that need to be vzw's. That could be the problem. I read on another site that vzw has added the tour and palm pre to this 5star interest list. so that people can be called prior to vzw releasing these phones. Just wandered if you know about this list. I am not asking about any release dates, rumor phones etc..... Only the validity of said list.

LOL....5star is some top secret shit...lol just kidding. Now what you say to a customer can be scripted or it can be what you want to say...like write your own script, but as far as the palm pre being on it...I couldnt tell you I havent been in that system for about 3 months now. Last I checked we were not being scripted to 'sell' you a specific phone, but the rep calling could have wrote their own script SO i guess in short and closing...5star exsits(its more of a telemarketing scheme than anything) and phones may or may not be listed on there(more than likely the rep. just writing it that way).

So i am looking for some advice from maybe a rep or someone experienced. I am from Canada but work out in the US 5 days a week, my company gives a blackberry with data but since i'm here so much i thought i would get a Verizon phone just so i don't have to worry about roaming charges. I bought a Pearl off of craigslist just because i like texting on that and because i don't want to carry two chargers around and when i went into the Verizon store they said i need to activate a data plan in order to use the Pearl.
I was told something diff. when i called before i purchased the Pearl so i'm stuck with a phone i can't use; any advice on this? Has anyone gone through this before?

How can you get to the 5GB limit on data? A saw the earlier post about tethering and working your way up to heavy usage but this is my situation. I am currently on a road trip and have been running slacker while on the road (~9 hours a day), will I even get get close to 5GB after 6 days of this?

LOL just kidding bud but had to...if you want to get an idea of where you are call #DATA...ull get a text...usually in KB...so to get to GB divide the number in the text by 1024, and then that number by 1024...but dont divide it by 2048....gets funky...now that being said. in a month i listen to iheart to and from work 40 mins one way...5-6 days a week constanly on BBM, e-mail and web, and highest I have gotten is .95 GB..so let me know :L)
