What's up with this Droid? Seen a commercial tonight that teased me like crazy!

I have a friend who currently uses a wireless EVDO modem from VZW for his internet. He is thinking of getting a black berry and tethering in order to bring down his cost. Is there a plan than he can buy and use to tether that would be cheaper than a regular phone plan + evdo?

All we know for now is this is a new Android phone coming to VZW. It should compete with the Hero on Sprint.

no unfortunately that is the cheapest way... regardless it is going to cost you at lease 59.99 a month.

I have a question about BES service and tethering.
My wife and I have a Storm each both on BIS and her's has tetherin so our data bill is $30 (BIS - Mine )+$30 (BIS - Wife)+$30 (tether - Wife) which = $90
Can I setup my phone with BES ($45) + tether ($15) and wife with BIS ($30) and then move the tether to my wifes phone without paying any additional charges?
So in the end it would be Wife with BIS and tether ($30+$15) and me just with BES ($45)
It's still $90 in the end but can this be done?

I wanted to add the BES service to activate my storm on the BES server but my bill is close to $300.00 already and I don't want to go over what it is now.
I have 5 lines on my account 2 Blackberry and 3 regular phones.
My wife needs the tether for her work and I wanted attach to a BES server. Being that it would come down to the same pricing the scenario I described would be perfect for me and no one had to lose, But if it's not possible I will have to live with what I have got.

yea.. you may want to look at price plan changes or finding a way to cut the cost at another point. If you want to list out everything you have for each line that costs anything and your average usages I could try to help you a little.

Ehh not really you can but you have to block a feature code that will not allow you to send and receive pic messages, and they really frown upon us doing that.

First (hypothetical question) I have a family plan with three phones on it. If I get a new Blackberry using BOGO and give the free phone to my daughter who is on my family plan, will that extend her contract date?

Two separate question do not use fact from first for second

Second. My wife who is on my family plan has no contract (expired). I have 18 months left in my contract can she get a blackberry under BOGA with a two year contract and give me the second (free) blackberry? What happens to my contract?

JOE - to answer your first question, yes in order to take advantage of the BOGO you would need to extend your service agreements out on 2 different eligible lines... .. hope this helps.

Thanks, that is what happened when I got the two storms for me and my daughter.
That got me thinking about what would happen if my wife were to get 2 blackberries under a BOGA plan. Both my daughter and I have 18 months left on our contracts.

just to answer your second question.. you have to have two lines eligible for the bogo, you would have to add a line if you were going to upgrade your wifes since you have 18months left on the other two

To get the Bogo Her line would have to have a upgrade available as well as another line
