Verizon and AT&T simultaneously on 9550 - personal email icon deleted when switching between them
Company is considering switching to Verizon from AT&T, and I'm running a trial to compare voice, data and texting between the two, but only want to carry one phone. Got an unlocked 9550, activated it month-to-month on Verizon, and inserted my AT&T SIM card with an same active account I've been using. Forwarded the AT&T phone number to the Verizon phone number, and set up BES for the new device. Reconfigured my personal email account that delivered to AT&T to deliver to Verizon on the 9550 as well, without deleting it on the AT&T.
Using "Manage Connections" I can select 1XEV to use Verizon or select GSM to use AT&T and switch between them in less than a minute, for voice and email coming from BES. However, each time I switch between networks, the icon for my non-BES email account disappears. Switching from AT&T to Verizon, I have to select the "Email Settings" icon, and enter my account password to "transfer" the non-BES account to Verizon that was there before switching networks so my email will show up again. When switching from Verizon to AT&T, the "Email Settings" icon is replaced by a "Setup Email Accounts" icon, and I have to go through the complete setup process each time.
Every time I switch carriers, I get a Blackberry Registration message, and apparently the registration process (which I understand comes from Blackberry through the carrier) removes access to my non-BES, personal email account.
Is there any way to configure the BB or BIS or BES such that both BES and non-BES accounts survive the change? Presumably anybody that goes to Europe and switches out the Verizon-supplied GSM SIM must encounter the same problem.
I'm running OS v5 on an unlocked Verizon 9550.
