Verizon to release MiFi (portable Wifi hotspots)

VZW will release this neat little gadget soon. It's a portable WiFi hotspot that allows you to share your cell's internet connection with up to 5 other cells with wifi, or laptops. It's pretty pricey, and in my opinion not worth it. but the device is 269.99 retail, or 99.99 after $50.00 mail in rebate with new 2 year contract. The cost is the standard eye opening 59.99 a month for 5gb and 39.99 for 250mb. Full article below.

The Verizon stores here in South Jersey are already selling them. I was checking one out on Tuesday. I agree it is pricey. My wife did get the new Netbook they offer. Not a bad deal IMO since she does do some traveling and needs Internet most of the time.

as of yet no... the best part is when they first introduced us to these... they were only to get power from a wall unit...they had that instantly changed for mobility to it gets power from your computers usb port. when you are traveling with it you have to plug directly in and you can share this connection with 5 computers....next cool part wifi for computers at home. ie if the mifi is hooked to your desktop and your blasted wife wont get off of it...boot up the lap top and connect as well...the biggest downside i think people are going to have is, its alot easier to you 5GB with 5 computers. But as far as bugs no...I have heard from 5 customers....cough cough friends cough cough.... 2 said range was great 2 said it sucks and one hasnt used it yet???? but anyhow will keep you updated with what I find out..
