The Wait Is Over! Verizon Rolls Out OS 6.0 for Bold 9650 & Curve 3G Today!

This update has been long in the works and finally, the wait is over for all BlackBerry Bold 9650 and Curve 3G users (and future users) on the Verizon network.

The update is available to corporate users by clicking here or OTA by completing these steps:

Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update

Verizon has also provided users with PDFs with more information about these updates. I have a feeling that OS 6.0 is going to look fantastic on these devices.

Verizon Bold 9650....checked wireless update in advanced options at 10:00 pm (PST) California time wed jan 26......no update available

I downloaded 6. From the post where it says corporate users click here,on that page, find your model phone and follow the leads from there. I have a Curve 3g and downloaded file 9330AMEA_PBr6.0.0_rel1741_PL4.4.0.315_A6.0.0.431.

Have not installed yet as I need to see if my Enterprise E-mails will work on this....oceanghost

Ive put it on both 9650 and 9300. Both where available on 25th after about 3 CST. On some units it will first update the device to an updated version of 5.xx. Then after that install is complete if you go in and check wireless updates, it will then offer the update to 6.0.0431 Bundle 1741. So far it has performed well. It is as quick as my 5.0. Also Visual voice mail and Youtube appears to have updated. I am still having same screen issues with viigo as I had with a leaked version of 6.o on another 9650. I would advise working with your BES Admin before going ahead with the update.

Does anyone know anything about Alltel getting O.S 6 for their Bold? and please don't tell me Verizon bought out alltel they only bought part of them . i ask every time i stop in to pay my cell bill they just tell me they haven't heard anything

What kind of Bold do you have? If it's a 9000, then no. If it's a newer Bold then it will eventually be released, I assume so.

In time they should release an official OS 6 for the 9650. You could always contact them and ask if they have a certain date in mind.
