It looks like Verizon's device "roadmap" for 2010/2011 has leaked and it appears there are no plans for BlackBerry in the works. It looks like Motorola is dropping two devices with Verizon, even one as early as November, the Droid PRO. Additionally, there are two more Android devices coming from HTC and Samsung. On the coverage front, it does seem that Big Red is planning on covering 75% of the country with LTE before April 2012. So the question remains, what BlackBerry devices will run on the LTE network? Does this roadmap give more truth to the rumors we won't see OS6 on CDMA for several months? Where does the 9670 Clamshell fit into these plans? What do you think of this roadmap? Do you plan on staying with VZW and Team BlackBerry or moving to a new device. Let us know!

Blackberry's nitch is email, security, and corporate accounts. When it come to email integration no one comes close however their OS is a dinosaur and their devices are antiques and this is from someone who loves his Storm2 and didn't mind his Storm1 with a little help from BBcrackman. After getting my hands on the DroidX, when my upgrade date is here I'll be switching or waiting to see if any droid LTE/3G devices are coming out. oh and i really dislike google. The hardware on these Android devices are ridiculous. I'm waiting to see a smart phone laptop hybrid where as the the smart phone is the core of the laptop and the laptop is essentially a docking station with some hardware enhancements or accelerators
I was hoping to see a Verizon Iphone in the near future. I will still hope for one to come out in the third or fourth quarter, maybe for Christmas! It will bring more customers to Verizon from At&T, since where I live people have the Iphone with AT&T but the coverage is spotty at best, where as if Verizon brings the Iphone to it's core there will be alot of people dropping AT&T for BIG RED! I have a storm 2 and I will drop it for an Iphone in a heart beat! Right now it is better than the AT&T Iphone since their coverage pales in comparison to Big RED'S. Come on CEO of Verizon release the CDMA Iphone, PLEASE!!
That's funny you say that as I have been contemplating leaving Verizon for AT&T. I know about the coverage issues but supposedly they have abated in my area (Philadelphia to NYC corridor). I'm on a Storm 1 and my contract is complete in DEC - I can do an early upgrade now if I wish but the fact Verizon cannot do simultaneous voice and date (CDMA) really goes against my grain. I was going to move to a Storm 2 (refresh model) when it was released but since OS6 didn't mention it I'm either going to wait and see what the Storm 3 will be all about or maybe just move to AT&T and get a Torch. I use my Blackberry for both business and personal and some of the mobile phone system clients that are now available for BB have reduced functionality if you cannot do voice and date at the same time (AT&T). I'd love to stay w/Verizon as the coverage is pretty good but I can see no compelling reason to stay with them at this point in time.
Well I am a 9550 Verizon owner. And I love Verizon for their coverage and reliability. Will I stick with a Carrier that only wants to sale the phone that "looks the best?" I'm thinking not. We've seen over and over again that Verizon is like a big stupid kid. They want what's shiny and new but have little to no regard for what's inside. Do I want a Droid? Eff No! That's just what Verizon is hoping and I can see there's already a few suckers that have been fooled by this. I know they're job is like Shady car dealers. But if I want a BlackBerry that's 6.x OS Ready then maybe we should talk about switching me over to a 9650 and not the "newest Droid" or whatever is going to get you another notch in your belt. What about customer satisfaction? I suppose I will be making a trip down to the shady station at Verizion's nearest Store soon. But will I walk out happy or ready to punch a granny is up to the Big Red V.
By the way Droid is fine if that's what you want. Just don't be talked out of your BlackBerry for some guys pocketbook. People always make excuses for what they like about things that they ended up paying for. You must learn to be objective and not let the money spent become a reason why your new Droid is all of a sudden better than when you handled your friends five days ago. Let me have a Droid as a house phone but not my primary.
While a lot of factors come into play with Verizon features that are being supported, it all stems back to the product(s) RIM are dealing out along with their capabilities. Yes, I have defected to the "droid" group because of this and giving up both my Storm 1 and Storm 2. After careful evaluation and tracking I have found out that RIM is shoveling out kibble rather than steak. With their recent release of the Torch along with other various BlackBerry Devices, that is a typical example. The processors and memory are very inferior to the products that are currently on the market this date. It readily appears that RIM's (Replace It Mike), marketing strategy leaves a lot to be desired. The recent influx of all the new inferior models (based upon other smartphones on the market) along with the inferior quality and capabilities, resulting in our frustruation of troublecalls and equipment replacement has become overburdensome. The days of us being the Beta Testers and in combination with todays economics extremely prohibit us from replacing phones on a whim or desire to have the latest, greatest on the market. RIM has evidentally not taken this to heart or in to consideration. The release of the Neilsen Report bears witness to that in that RIM has lost or will be loosing 50% of it's market share due to this. RIM needs to wake up and see the handwriting on the wall and quit resting on it's past glory.
yea im about to switch to the droid x. i love my blackberry but the only thing im gonna miss after the change is having whatever music i have on my phone being a ringtone for different contacts and messages. oh and a screen that clicks. i have big fingers and have to click the back button allot but thats it. i wont miss all the uncaught exception errors or the battery pulls or the slowness at all. hell my wife cant even plug her storm1 into the computer anymore. everytime it gets replaced from big red all it does is contant reset when plugged in. no more bb for us.
