Verizon To Limit Unlimited Data Plans!

Verizon, one of the last big carriers who still offers unlimited data plans, is soon to join the club of limited data plans. We knew the day would come, eventually, however from what is being reported July 29th is just a little too soon! Thankfully, I'm already on limited data plans so this won't affect me a bit, however those of you who pay for unlimited data plans are about to get a rude awakening. The prices are not available yet, also, there hasn't been any news as to whether or not people will be "grandfathered" over like what AT&T did when they switched to limited data plans.

So how about it? First AT&T is acquiring areas of Verizon's, now Verizon is putting a cap on their data limits. Seems to me like Verizon is stepping down their game, I do think true unlimited data plans were one of the perks of being on Verizon, I emphasize on were.

The key here is if you already have a $30 data plan you are grandfathered into it.

Yeah I know, but I didn't know if Verizon would do it or not. It's Verizon, so who knows what they'll do.. Lol

Verizon will most likely not change any exisiting unlimited plans, but when you want to upgrade, you will probably have to choose one of their new plans...

You are right.. Verizon will not force everyone to go on the new plans. I can almost guarantee it.

Well...I just spoke with cust service to turn off my int'l plan. I asked them about this and they informed there were no plans whatsoever to get rid of the unlimited data plans offered by verizon wireless. She went further to say they have received numerous calls concerning this issue and wanted to reassure me these rumors were not true. (Obviously this is FOR WHAT ITS WORTH...this is Verizon afterall)

from what I could tell after looking more into this is that VZW is only "planning" on making this change for their 4G line and the 3G and earlier device won't be affected...

Big Red will have to honor it's existing contracts with its customer base at least until they need to re-up. Otherwise Big Red will be spending too much time in court for breach of contract hearings.
What needs to happen is for someone from Verizon that has the proper information on this subject to step forward and clarify the details. It would be nice to see a copy of a memo or something.
Have you ever wondered why things intended to make our lives simpler keep getting more complicated to use?
