Not a problem pal. I'm glad it worked for you. Seems that on some devices they tighten the torx screws too tight. It's a pain in the rear, but oh well.

Just FYI, I traded in 3 defective Curves to verizon before being offered a new phone and all three had leaked OS's on them. They won't charge you for them and they won't so much as give you a call about them having wrong OS's on them. Again, I sent them 3 as defective units. You do want to make them give you a NEW unit though as those refurbished units are paper weights.

I think VZW policy is to send 3 refurbs and if that doesn't fix the problem the 4th will be a new one. Cheap bastards.

yeah its all good though. i put .75 back on the pos broken phone and its ready to ship out tomorrow. her new one i used a torx and loosened the bolts and it clicks like its never clicked before haha. so she is all set for me to leave. no phone issues!!!

When you did the adjustment with the torx were you able to get it to click in the bottom middle. I've done the adjustment which made a big difference as well but i still am not happy with the bottom middle location which clicks but not nearly as well as the other areas.

I used a post-it note. Folded it in half and that fixed one that I was working on. Knock on wood, mine is good. The owner said that made all the difference in the world.

A claw hammer works wonders too! You get that damn claw dug up under the screen and pull as hard as you can. Use excessive force! I mean really pull on that damn thing. Once you hear a loud crack noise... you did it my friend... you did it. Trust me, you won't even worry about the middle not clicking anymore.


Don't really do it... I take no responsibility if anyone tries this. If you do, however, try it. Use the other side of the hammer and connect it with your head. :banana:

Do I have to unlock to GSM?

It is VZW's equivalent

i have a great phone no problems , until just the other day , i have some weird lines looks like its under my screen , doesnt look like dust though

true i didnt have problems with mine until last week. i called vzw and my brand new refurbed will b here on friday. yes i tried to get a new 1 after chit chattn with the young lady she confesed that you will never tell the difference b/c they do a 100 pnt check on all refurbed phones. in other words u never get that new phone that u think ur getting.

I just received Storm number 5 from Verizon. 1 had a screen click issue, 2 lost touch screen functionality altogether, and 1 had a bad microphone and couldn't be used for calls without a headset.

I love reading this thread. It always amazes me how they tell me every time "this is very uncommon, we never have to replace these phones, everyone is happy with the Storm". Uh huh...sure. :no:

I asked for a new/non-refurb this time around. She swore up and down that they never do that. Pretty funny. I figure no big deal, at this rate I'll be needing another in 3 weeks anyway.

I seem to be going through them at a clip of about 1 every 4 weeks. Just keep 'em coming VZW. It's really a shame that they cannot standardize the manufacturing process and just design the friggin device to work on all phones. Maybe this is why no one tried a click keyboard before. Perhaps Apple isn't so stupid after all lol.

ha ha im on my 4th storm also cuz of the same reasons and i got them all threw warranty claims not insurance claims since its not youre fault
