Thread: Official OS update coming for the 9550!!!

Just got word from my contact over at Big Red that they will be releasing New OS for the S2 on Monday. However it will not include PTT files?!? WTH NOT!!! :aargh4:

EDIT: Update The OS will Be 5.0.0.607

Let's hope so. The 9550 needs one bad. So many people that are stuck with 328 and have no idea about leaks

Ya I agree. I am just really upset that PTT is not included.

We have to think about it though, beggers can't be choosers. They want a new update, granted it doesn't have PTT in it, it's an update none the less.. (Look familiar Nate? Lol my info for Mada.. :P)

You are absolutely right Shimmy beggers cant be choosers. However Me personally could care less about the Official OS cuz it's prob. .607 or lower and I can get better OS from a leak or something I just want PTT LOL...

I Install every Hybrid that OOAK produces . But that doesn't help my PTT demand haha..

PTT wont be implemented into an OS. So the upgrade really doesn't affect that service. Whether the update comes this week or 3 months from now it still wouldn't include PTT. PTT will be pushed via Service Books to customers when the device is supported. Then you will have to subcribe to the service itself. Hopefully they add 9550 support before June 30th so we can get it for free. I'm willing to bet the S2 will be the next to get PTT.

Ok well that makes sense and that's what I thought. But according to what I have read in other threads everyone was talking about PTT cod files in the .591 OS for the Tour before VZW released it officially. Then the same day they released the OS it came with PTT?!?

Ya My Source over at Big Red Sends Me emails from Time to Time.

So, pretty much at the end of the day....for a major release of this type for all users of a "KEY Product". Well after such a long time since release of the S2 for those of us who moved from the S1 I will belive it when I see it. Having said that however I do hope this takes place today. Getting tired of seeing other "Official" model OS releases and leaks.

Just a bit frustrated at this point.....compared to the activity we had regarding the S1 when the S2 was to be the end all and be all for this format.

.607 is now available via OTA still not showing up on VZW website or Desktop Manager....

It's definitely on their web site now.

maybe since they released this officially we will get the PTT

PTT is controlled via service books, not necessarily the app. Unforuntately, the 9550 doesn't have PTT yet.
