Verizon to offer PTT to BlackBerry owners for free!
A new promotion from Verizon just popped up and it seems Big Red is going to give away it's PTT service. I know what you are thinking. What's the catch, right? Well according the the pdf that just got passed to us, there isn't one. Customers who have a supported BlackBerry and subscribe to the Push To Talk service will get the service for free for the remainder of their contract length. The only Blackberry phone that is currently supported is the BlackBerry Tour. Which is a little strange because the pdf document says "on compatible BlackBerry smartphones". Smartphones? Will Verizon be adding more phones to the supported list? If they are planning on it then they need to hurry because the promotion only runs from March 30th until June 30th, 2010. See the link below to see the full pdf document.
Verizon offering Push To Talk Free!
Based on the above add, Verizon will be offering its new Push-to-Talk (PTT) service for free on the BlackBerry Tour 9630. It looks like if you download the software to your device prior to June 30, 2010 you will receive the service for free for the life of your contract. Most Tour users are at most less than a year into their contracts as the device launched last July, so go grab the free service while you can which should last you at least a year. If your currently using PTT, let us know what you think of it. If your not, go get it for free and let us know.
