I thought it might be interesting to get a poll of who thinks Verizon's new $350 ETF fee for smartphones will actually stop scammers from trying to scam Verizon.

I dont thikn it will.. when you consider full price of a Storm2 at 540. You can pay 180+350=530, but you dont have to do it all at once or.. 180+240=420. Keep the line active with a dumb phone for 2 years and you really dont have to pay all at once plus if you can sell it off.. or if you BOGO you would really make out.
So...why do people think its scamming? If you think about it, vzw has plenty other ways to scam people... I tend to differ in opinion. :p

I don't think it will. I used 2 upgrades and got 2 Storm 2s for $179. I'm using one and the free one I sold on eBay for $600. I'm still paying for the line and it has a 8330 on it so vzw isn't loosing any money. I do think the $350 etf is out of line but it won't stop people.
