Thread: Verizon Upgrade Email for Storm Owners/

I acted like I knew nothing. I think they can smell if you know what your talking about. I just called and said a friend of mine said they were upgrading all S1's to S2's and I was wondering what that was about. The lady said she had not heard that but hold on. She came back and said they would move my upgrade date and it was a done deal.

Another tip, the last 3 times I've had my upgrade date changed it was done in the early morning. Its like the experienced CSRs who know how to get it done have the early shifts. If I call after like 10am, nothing but stonewalled. IDK, just my experience.

How far along were you in your contract?

If he is nothing more than a sales rep then the chances are low unless he is in good with the manager. The sales rep's do not have the power or codes to change that. So its going to be a toss up if he can get you anymore than where the next rep would. Dont hold it against him if he cant

Nah, I never would, he's a close friend and I've already told him if he can't do anything, to not sweat it. I like my current S1 but like so many others, have that 'new device envy' and wanna be carrying the latest/greatest. He BBMd me back this evening and told me to come see him at work tomorrow and he'd have me 'taken care of' with a S2, so methinks it's all good. He IS in great with the manager and pretty much has free reign to hook me up with anything I want/need. In return, I've been referring him new accounts left and right, I think he's opened new accounts for about 10 of my friends since July, total of around 20 blackberry's I'd say.

Quick question for those who have an S2, do the homescreen icons not update yet? That's gonna play a big role in my decision, I've gotta have my meterberry/berry weather icons on the home screen, and I know there aren't many themes out for the S2 yet. Also should I decide to go ahead and buy the S2, would yall recommend getting my S1 unlocked before I sell it on Ebay?

No home screen icons and you may have to turn in your Storm 1 but if you dont defiantly unlock before selling

And the new hybrid from OOAK does allow the home screen icons to update, its a nice addition. You can pick up the discussion here.

Fantastic! Although I doubt I'll be watching MB as frequently as I currently do with limited memory, but even if I can just have my BW updating on the hs, I'll be happy with it. AND I just tried my first hybrid with BBCv10 and love it, so I'll be down for that. Waiting on my friend to get to his store so I can go see if we can make the switch for me. Thanks for the info Rel, because that seriously had me 2nd guessing the change, but probably wouldn't have been enough to outweigh all the raves I've read about the S2. Do your themes work on the S2 (most of them anyway) ? I use several of yours along with Nate's, Dark Blue being my favorite. Thanks again for taking the time to respond, yall have helped me out alot in my decision.

Ok so the upgrade flyer didn't work for me, but my buddy called cs from his desk there, said my BB was acting up again, which is true, and ill have my new S2 on Friday by 3PM. Ill elaborate more from my pc in a bit

I have updated Kryptonite and my Crisp themes. I will try to get some time later today to do Hypnotize.

That's good to hear, I know you will be impressed on the improvement.

Yeah im very excited about getting it before 3PM on Friday, now just trying to purchase meterberry as a gift for my buddy who helped make it happen. Showed him a few apps & themes on my current storm and he wanted them, just have to figure out how to do it as a gift thru their website. I kinda figured at 32 yrs old I wouldn't get this excited anymore, but I feel like I'm 10 & Friday is Christmas morning lol. My storm keeps me entertained while I sit in the deer stand waiting for Bambi, which I'm doing as I type this hehe

Oh, and I've seriously been having a heat issue with this my 3rd storm since july. I think that is what is causing it to Reboot randomly too, hence the returned device and replacement with S2.
