Question, if anyone out there can answer. From what I see the same font color that changes "list" controls the messages viewing pane but also the list in...say the profile menu. Changing this to white make the application list readable but the messages unreadable. any ideas on how to separate the two -or- am I missing something completely?

If i get you correctly... your having issues with changing a txt color in one place and it changing in others... in which other places have different backgrounds, making it unreadable?

If so... in the messages "list" you can change the color of the list "bar" also in other places like the profiles , etc, you can change the "cursor" or even use a different background. You can find those setting under 'Dialogs' and 'buttons'

Hope that helps out a lil... i know my first attempt to change font colors to gray my profiles txt was unreadable against the black bg. good luck.

Did u get mine??? lol ... jus replied... and i sent those over! Happy beating of head on desk... least that was what i did in my first 2-3 weeks of theme making! But then i jumped straight into hidden docks and animation... latest theme is one of a kind so far... 4 icons that fly in from off screen to center from 4 directions with a tiny lil trigger button. but ne ways ... as long as u keep yours free... im here to help !

EDIT... Having said that... for anyone else out there reading up on this... The same applies... if you need help with your themes theres plenty of knowledge floatin around amongst us, but personally if your going to create themes for profit... dont ask for MY help! (unless your gonna pay me to!) My help is free... and so should all our themes!!!

Ok, Please forgive my ignorace.

Been reading about making my own theme, and well i want to try now. I want to design a StarGate SG-1 theme. I would LOVE to have the gate with the shimering water and even be able to show the iris of the gate open and close.

Am I biting off too much for round 1? I usually have the mindset of got for it all. If we don't push ourselves we never get better....lol

And if I pull this off, anyone who wants a copy is more than welcome.

I wasn't that ambitious because what that would take is some .svg files that I don't have or at this point don't know how to create. Unless you know how to create those or have someone to help that's going to be difficult.

Ok so here is whats causing me to beat my head on the desk. The font color for the list controls both the list in email/ options/ etc.....but it also controls the font color in lists that other apps launch like the profiles/ quick launch/ etc....Now the problem for me is the background on the other apps (eg. profiles) is dark and the background for lists (eg. email) is light. I want the backgrounds to remain as is, but I want to change the font color for (apps) lists and not lists like email. Ive tried to change things, build it back up using the default as a template and am struggling to get it. Sad part is this is the last thing I want to fix before I release my next theme.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Definately goin to be a bit of a task... but i think its doable.. Im not sure of how gif images interact in theme building though, as thats what you'll need to have the gate look like it does. If they will work, then its just a matter creating a few transformations between them to get the full effect of it opening or closing.

I think ill look into this when i get a chance, see what i can come up with and ill get back to ya!!! If you have any gif files already of the gate let em know might make it a lil easier!

I have a few GIF images of the gate "on" with the shimmering water. I may have to make one with the iris closed or maybe I'll get lucky and find some.

Dude, got lucky, found an entire setup of gates each one in a little different state. One with iris, one without, one with event horizon.

Only down side, is that the gate is slightly turned. it isn't head on

hey, can you pull what we need from a Flash video? I found a copy of a flash progam that shows the SGC coomputer screen.

I am new to theme making and I have some ideas of what I would like to include in the theme. I have been playing around with the software for a few days but have had troubles figuring out how to incorporate my own ideas into the theme itself. If anyone can assist me I would appreciate it. I would like to add:

On Main Screen
Weatherbug quick launch
10 clean bold icons at bottom
clicking clock brings up alarm
click on antenna brings up manage connections
Quick pull next on top banner

On Applications Screen
When selecting (not clicking) an icon I would like to a small image to appear below as well as bold the icon.


May have a few additional ideas later but I cannot figure out how to insert (or find) 3rd party icons in the top banner, this would help to get me going before I have more questions.

Really just depends on how many things you use and how nice it looks. The better ones will take a little longer to develop but I have seen alot of themes that probably took maybe 15 minutes.
