What am I doing wrong??? Help!!!
Hi all! I am a newbi trying my best to create themes. I have developed a couple actually, just can't seem to make them work on my phone. I have installed OS on computer, most up to date BBDM installed, Plazmic 4.7 installed, GIMP installed, and the simulator for Storm installed. I choose to design for 9500 in plazmic, design, simulate and all looks good. Try to install on my phone and that is where it all goes to crap...:irked:I get a message saying the file is not compatible and cannot be installed...What am I doing wrong? I have tried uninstalling all of the programs and reinstalling them, still nothing.
Welcome to BlackberryOS
I don't know much about themes but we do have several great theme designers on staff so hopefully when one signs on they can point you in the right direction.
I dont know much either but did you change them to Jad files? we will get someone to assist you on how to do that but they have to be changed over before they will load on the phone
Well check to make sure you are exporting your files in the correct format. There are three methods to get the themes on your phone.
Method one: Export the theme as a alx in the export screen. Then load this on your phone using Destop manager.
Method two: Export theme as a .jad file type. Then plug your phone into the computer, using windows explorer move the .jad and all .cod files to your memory card. Next on your phone using file explorer, navigate to the jad file and select it, this will install it same as an OTA install.
Method three: Export theme as a .jad file type. Upload all .jad and .cod files to a server. Navigate to the file using your Berry's browser.
Let me know how this works for you.
ok the only way I have tried is the desktop manager installing .alx file and that doesn't work for me.
In your export screen tell me what you have selected.
I choose the ALX
Theme name The simpsons
Target OS 4.7
I have both "overwrite existing files" and "include international characters" boxes checked.
This problem has been solved, yeah.
