Hi all,
I am in the process of creating a Storm theme in Plazmic 4.7 but I am unable to get the carrier name to display in the banner area.
I even loaded up theme builder with the default Storm theme and was unable to get the simulator to display the carrier name.
Please help.

The carrier name is not normally used in themes because it uses up valuable realestate and most know which carrier they are on. If you decide to add it you must just check mark the box in the Plazmic Theme maker.
As for the simulator it should show the name "Fledge Network" if you have done that correctly. The second way to test is to load the theme on your phone. I suggest loading it view SD/OTA so that you phone does not have to reset.
To do this you export as a Jad file. Then move the jad and all cods to you SD card. Navigate to the SD card and select the jad file and you will install the theme via OTA without needing the internet.

I have the carrier box checked and it still does not display the carrier name. As a test I loaded up Theme Builder, and started a new storm theme. I then exported the default theme. I used the simulator to load the exported jad and cod files. The theme loads but I still do not see the carrier name. Am I missing something?
Oh, i do not have a storm so must use the simulator.

P3 had to step away for a bit so I will try to help out. I just loaded the default to my simulator too and I don't see it either. I think its because there is no carrier for it to detect. Although I have seen what P3 referenced before. If you want me to throw it on my storm to see I totally will. One. Question though, well more of a curiosity, I've never put the carrier on there; is it vital to the theme?
It is not vital to the theme but I do travel overseas and and I thought those that do would like to know what carrier they're hooking up to.Quote:

The one your working on would be best. Also to verify, carrier is checked on both the home screen and app screen, or at least the home screen right?
Carrier is checked everywhere as I can see the carrier name in theme builder

Carrier name should be under the banner on the right in the home screen and in the center banner in the app screen (portrait and landscape).

Ok got it, I don't see it here either. I take it your doing the home screen in composer right? Let do some digging and see what I can find. Sweet theme BTW.

Ok, well this may be of little help here. I read few places that say this does not work on 3G networks but it is controlled by a setting on the phone select Advanced Options > select Cell Broadcast Settings > change "Cell Broadcasting Service" to ON > press the menu button and select "Add Channel" > set the new "Channel ID" as 50 > set the "Nickname" as "Cell Info" > save. Maybe in your travels it will show up. Unfortunately I cant test the validity of this fix.
I also checked my storm on the default theme and its not there either, leading me to belive that it wont work on 3G networks.
Ok. Thanks. I guess I will release it without the carrier name for now.
