Need help with SVG and composer

1st off, I will say once again how nice it is to have people in here that will actually help you!

OK, I have just started messing around with composer and creating SVG files to import into themebuilder. I have been semi-successful at creating an svg file with some hidden buttons that will bring up the clock, options and profiles. I also want to have a spot for a hidden quicklaunch button but I cannot get it to work. I followed instructions from CB threads and other places and put the module name in for it but no go. Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks, Lou

I no longer have QuickLaunch but do this for me and post what you find.

Go the applications (5.0.0.140) or advanced options --->applications (4.7.xx) highlight quicklaunch and click the blackberry button, select modules

post back here the modules you find.

The only module shown for QL is:
    QuickLaunch 2.08
Maybe it is not working because I did not put in the 2.08?

Yes, you need to type the module name in composer exactly as it appears or it will not work.

P3 - 1st I want to thank you for you help!

OK, I tried the fix with the module name and it is still not working. I must be missing something so simple at this point. So I am attaching a screen shot of the composer screen so you can see what I am doing right/wrong.

you need to use the exact name of the module which is QuickLauch (note capital 'L'). I used that and it worked for me.

As a matter of rule I go in and code most of my svgs by hand...I just find it a bit easier. If you name your svg file with a .txt at the end then I can look at it.

ah ha! looking at the svg in notepad changes the whole game! now it is similar to building a homescreen for a windows mobile standard (like the Moto Q's, etc.). I have attached the file as a txt in a zip file - thanks for checking this out for me! hopefully you can see the screenshot ok from my earlier post. the spot for QL is on the top left corner.

I saw that. The svg did not attach go ahead and give it another try.

    Nevermind.

I looked over your svg and everything looks like I expect it to.

Can you send a screenshot of your quicklaunch module screen.

Dont mean to hijack this thread but I had a quick question. I used composer to create the svg and when i load it into theme builder, I keep getting a message that there are attributes of the same. What does that mean?

This is a great question. I too have humped over this problem many many times. Maybe I should write a beginners guide. Anywho I digress.

Check you animation links at the very bottom of your svg.

Each animation needs to have a different "_anim_L#" numbers should go L1, L2, L3. etc.

    Hope this helps.

    OK... im back!
I think I may have found the problem or part of the problem. Some screen the QL module is 2.08 and others it is 2.10 - didnt think of it until I remembered I had 2.10 installed (duh!). Anyways, here are some shots.

there are 3 different screen caps with the module info and then one cap of the homescreen as I have it right now. The clock is hidden, options hidden behind the signal meter, profiles above the clock, and QL over the battery. I also just thought another issue could be that the meterberry icon is partly over the QL hidden button and maybe blocking it somehow?

Okay you need to name your button QuickLaunch.

I always suggest at least a 50x50 button to give easy access and unless you are doing hidding icons or moving icons (slide on and off the screen) do not overlap them.

    Hope this helps.
