ok i have to ask... how do u add 3rd party apps and or weather bug icons on the main screen??
and if any 1 also knows how to make 3rd party apps react when i do mini icons to shrink em all too i would luv the info.. and then kill myself cause i bet its under my nose and i cant figure it out..
thanx in advance
This needs to be done in composer. When your assigning properties to buttons. I'm not sure how much exposure you have to working in composer so I don't know where to start. When you set the button properties there is an potion for third party applications. In the text box there you need to type the exact name of the application that is listed under the options > advanced options > applications > the app your looking to add. Also there is a bug in plasmic where this is not 100% functional. I have played with it a bit and got it to work on a few apps.
If you new to composer I highly reccomend watching Durkan's tutorial located here.

nah im good with composer i made HD without svg codes.. but i lack in some aspects.. this is one of them.. the other is making a button functional to make other things happen when pressed.. will get to that another day.. but u r saying to name the app whatever it comes up in the device ( options > advanced options > applications > the app your looking to add. )??? if so ill give that a try tomorrow.. again i cant thank any 1 enuff for the help they offer from this point on and also to any member whom wishes to ask and gain knowledge from u all ur a gr8 group thanx
Might i chime in here guys....
Adding 3rd party apps is one hell of a job if you want it to be a permanent icon. As the guys said you have to know the exact name of the apps "load file". with apps such as weather, you tend to have multiple cod files running simultaneously so finding the right one... is a pain..
SO... my suggestion is to just create the button assign it to application order... and edit the SVG in Notepad++ to give it what ever "slot" # u want. By doing this.. any attributes u give that "icon" in composer will effect ANY icon in that slot on the phone, default OR 3rd party. Hope that helps ya out...

with this being said i might have missed one thing.. r u stating to still set the icon properties ex: weatherbug slot9 in svg?? or were u saying just keep it default app and put an icon on top so this way a user who does or doesnt have can select the icon they want to be displayed there??? sorry if that sounds a lil wound up i have a way of explaining things that sound right to me but r busted up to others
In composer click the box for "use app order"... that will tell it in the svg how to handle it.
Then after u export it, use notepad++ to go in and change the slot # to any slot..
Depending on what other icons u set up this lets u set that to a SPECIFIC slot# so yea u can set it to 9 10 11 what ever....

i must say that it is nice to see theme developers helping out in here! your input is invaluable! and like what stated earlier - nice not to get flamed for asking a question about theme building in a theme building thread!
Thomas,
And I am not trying to slight any of the above advice as all of it was correct but for your theme you do not need to edit the svg file since you have done all of thei in plazmic. The solution is relatively simple and I am ashamed to say I spend a heck of a lot of time trying to fix this problem before I realized what was wrong. Have said this I am sure this has happened to many a theme designers,
You only get the lady bug when you have not set a location or updated your current location on your handheld device. To fix this on your handheld do the following.
Go into Weatherbug and have it update, it will now be updated on your homepage.
Welcome to BBOS.
