Zen is a the theme with a row of icons in the bottom, or in the right or lefht screen side, usually zen themes are good to show off you wp,
a custome theme is one that includes all features on the zen theme plus some other options like a today section, hiden docks, or icons forming a L

    resumen

a custom theme is one combination between a zen and today theme with plus features...

Think of it as with a Zen theme your confined to the "Zen" template. A custom theme is more like an open canvas. It can be confusing because many people (including myself) make custome themes that keep a lot of Zen elements. There arn't many add ins to a Zen theme.

Yes, if you jump over the storm themes section all of my themes are there (except stone, don't ask why, just haven't got around to starting a thread for it).

Zen themes have always been a theme with no today or hidden today function to them. So they will not show messages or calendar items on the home screen when the corresponding icon is selected.

I still am learning what everything does, when making a theme. One of the things I like doing is trying it out different ways. That way I can figure out what does what and what I need to do to make changes. That may be an option to others also. That is my opinion
