I'm going to the states for about a week. Is it worth biting the bullet and eating the roaming charges, or is there a cheaper way to have service in the States?? I have an unlocked 9530 on Telus.

I was thinking about getting a prepaid AT&T sim card but I have no idea how much they cost. Not to sure if its worth it for only a week.
hey mgawley,
couple options for you none of the cheap. Your storm is a world phone so it will work anywhere on the telus network. That of course comes with some heavy roaming charges I'm sure.
OR
you could get it unlocked and then like you suggested and buy a prepaid card.
hope that helps but I dont think it's worth it IMO sounds expensive![]()

If, the phone is already unlocked then the roaming charges do not affect you?

Yes they do, unless you take out the Telus SIM card and put an ATT or TMobile one. You can also add a north american plan, but for such a short period of time I would not do that.
You can turn your data off when roaming (this is available under: options>mobile network). That will save you data roaming charges and will allow you to have your BB on during your travels in the states.
