Thread: ESN swapping on Telus Mobile

well since all the big dawgs are here.

I'd like to ask my question again. do any of you know how to switch devices with telus?

I'm looking at getting another berry but I would llike to switch back and forth without going through telus...anybody....

In doing a little goggling, It seems they charge 25.00 for esn swaps no matter if it is done with CSR or online @ your mytelusmobility. That does seem like a little price gouging. But some have said that they have called and coplained and the fee has been removed from there account.

I found that as well. I do remember way back when, I had a dumbphone (remember those) anyway. one of the reps at retail outlet gave me a automated number to call and I did it myself.

could be old practice or a dumbphone thing but I was hoping it's possible.

I want to switch when ever for what ever reason and I dont want to argue about a 25.00 dollar charge everytime.

Here is what I was told from my Telus source. This is really no way around them. However, if you go online at mytelusmobility.com and press swap/upgrade device it's $10 each time you do.

If you go through data support it's $25.

From the sounds of it, Telus Mobile has some pretty bad operating practices.

I just call Verizon and do it over the phone and tell them online doesn't work and they never charge me :lmao:

i wonder if vzw can do it for me too.lol

I used the online quite a bit when I used Moto Razr's. I had 3 and I would switch back and forth almost daily. No charges ever. The only this was I also had that contact book backup setup on my account and if the phones had different Contacts in them, it made a real mess. It would upload them both.

dude i'm really wishing i did. this nickle and dime shat is pissing me off.
honestly I was looking to switch and they threw the farm at me I couldn't refuse the offer. hindsight sucks

bell and rogers wont touch the deal so I stayed.

iv had no problems, must have been the time ive been with them but what i dont like is you can only use Telus phones/Bberrys you can only use theirs and when you do buy 1 from EBay or Kijij you better hope they are clean units esn/hex #'s if theres money owing or the previous owner hasnt told Telus its been sold sometimes its a hassle what im hoping is that they open up all the phones to purchasing to include non telus phones
