yes. vzw will not even sell you a blackberry if it doesnt have a data plan attached. smart phones you used to be able to have pay per use or block, but vzw doesnt offer that anymore either.

Just to look "Cool" but whats cool about carrying a phone that you cannot afford to truly use? seems to make you less "cool"

I use my Bold to text prolly 90% of the time, i had a curve i didn't care for the keyboard on that at all.. I have tried various phone and nothing felt comfortable to me texting, I rarely use my data i dont have time to play with it during work, texting is lot easier to do and takes less time. People have different uses for there BB's not all need to be cool and have data just because AT&T needs more money. Some people like to use there to take pictures with or use as MP3, so it isn't all bout data, maybe it is for you but don't get on and post bout people be cheap, last i checked anyone can buy what they wanna.... Doesn't mean you should be charged for something you don't use, maybe a BB is something a person wanted who knows, is there choice on it..

But my point was that someone who purchases this kind of device should be aware of the additional cost.. You use your device, you have a data plan, but due to a situation it would be more cost effective for you to be able to remove it and i'd def agree that its good for that option to be there.. I personally find it stupid for those who buy the device to be "cool" and look bad ass but dont get data because its too "expensive".. While there are many points of view to a situation(s). We have all been able to find a point at which we are all comfortable with. Understanding and respecting each others point of view and situational circumstances is what will win in the end.
