AT&T and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announce that they will be starting a new initiative that will provide free Wi-Fi to 20 parks across New York City’s boroughs. This will mean that New Yorkers will be able to connect to a parks WiFi through selected Smartphones and other WiFi devices. How cool is it that soon you will be able to hang out in Central Park and fully use your BlackBerry Playbook or Smartphone??
So far New York parks such as Battery Park, Joyce Kilmer Park and Thomas Jefferson Park have been opened with WiFi access. Their will be more parks that will launch throughout the summer.
AT&T Writes:
AT&T launching these WiFi sites is a powerful move. This is part of AT&T's way of showing NYC it cares about giving you the 100% full experience of mobile technology.Connecting to AT&T Wi-Fi at the parks is quick, easy and free to all users, not only to AT&T subscribers.
What do you think about this new initiative?
