Thread: AT&T Sues Verizon for the ads!

Both VZW and AT&T, just like other carriers, enjoy showing off their coverage map to customers and emphasizing how great the coverage is....In this case, appears that VZW is using AT&T's coverage map to their advantage and guess what?....AT&T is not happy! Basically comparing the two coverage maps, customers get the impression that the white areas on the map of AT&T are no coverage areas, and VZW has very little of those. There are different factors that affect each one and apparently each carrier can get creative with colors and they don't necessarily mean no coverage. There is a lawsuit in progress and things are heating up....

This won't go anywhere. AT&T doesn't really have a case. Verizon is only advertising 3G coverage. At most a settlement and little bit of change in the commercials.

Right on the $. I knew the "there's a Map for that" statement that Verizon uses now would spark up this lawsuit! Verizon got that "Steinberner" (yankee's Owner in case some may not know)type pocket so am sure this may be a publicity stunt to get the masses focus back on VZW. With all the devices coming out this holiday season, aside advertising, VZW chose to spark up some controversy to get people reved up...At&T is fallen right into the trap....this is just IMHO of course...

You are correct and its why the most AT&T will get done is that map not shown on commercials. The map VZW uses for VZW 3g is only their coverage none of their 'patners', and the same goes with the AT&T map.. they are using the same base for either one so it seems pointless to me.

That's definitely true but "There's a Map for that"..VZW should have use something more creative..like "You can just d/l that". or use the Nike approach.."Just d/l it":laugh2:

I love that "Call Failed" Ad. The first time I watched it, I forwarded to every iphone owners I knew.

This is ridiculous.

I hope AT&T has to pay Verizon's legal fees when this is done. They should be upgrading their creaky network, not suing people who point out they suck. If they did that, maybe they wouldn't suck so much.
