    Tethering on tmobile

Can you tether with tmobile? I'm getting conflicting answers. The tmobile store says yes but a tmobile franchise says no. according to the franchise, customer service says they did away with that. Please help! I want to go to tmobile but I need tethering.

I've been tethering my various BB's for over 5 years utilizing various methods on T Mobile. I currently use either the desktop manager or the program Tether. Both work fine for light web surfing and email. I've used tethering heavily when traveling and I've never paid any sort of an overage. It's one of the reasons I've stuck with T Mobile...but I'm sure lusting after that HTC EVO. It has a built in hotspot for up to 8 ( I believe) connections.

I set up a dial up app to connect my Tmobile Curve as a modem to my computer.

Lol.... I never noticed the option to use your BB as a modem on the DM. So... I'm on Verizon now, if I thethered through the dm would Verizon notice as long as I stayed under 5gb?

Verizon is the only carrier that will not allow you to tether threw DM. Especially without paying the tether fee of 29.99 if you are on a BIS and 14.99 if you are on a BES. I have heard of others who have used tether (the app) and have been charged per MB for their usage.

All the more reason to leave Verizon. In my area I get good coverage from all carriers, so I'm deciding between sprint and tmobile.
