I was looking at buying a Storm 1 or 2 and unlocking on T-MO. Anybody try this and if so, what are the downsides?

I recently sold my storm 1 to a friend on tmobile. I had it unlocked and then helped set it up. Everything worked fine. SMS,bbm, internet, mms, the only problems I did notice were the slow internet service on tmobile and some apps that use the internet weren't working properly. Oh and app world wouldn't work as well. Strangely tho Facebook and twitter worked fine.

Same issues found by my friend on a storm 1. He also noticed that some of the more recent operating systems were not allowing him to use the phone unless he downgraded. Might be coincidental.

I used the storm 1 and right now using storm 2 with tmobile, both worked awesome with newer 5.0 OSes, the ONLY apps that did not work without having to enter in apn settings were streaming radio apps-Pandora and slacker, otherwise there is no need to enter apn and the only other trouble you may have is a "no circuit, no channel" error when making calls and that seemed to be a hit or miss depending on what area you live in

I was able to trade for a Storm 1 and got it unlocked and working great in T-Mobile running the 5.0.0.509 hybrid from Lyricidal. I love it! However I live in the country so coverage in the house is bad. I know that if you unlock a Storm2 you can't do UMA but does the Wifi work at least for web browsing and other functions? Before I get a Storm 2 I would like to hear from a Storm 2 user on T-Mobile. Thanks all!
