    This would be an interesting device if it does come to fruition.

    Exclusive deals between equipment manufacturers and service providers defeat the free market principles and keep prices up - both for the consumer and manufacturer.

    RIM could easily make all of their handsets compatable on CDMA and GSM networks essentially "world phones" and made available to all carriers.

    Look at the iPhone in the US, only available on ATT and to a lesser extent the Storm on Verizon - think of how many more iPhones would sell if they were available to all carriers. Sprint had a short term exclusive the Palm Pre, now Verizon is offering the Palm Pre Plus...

    I would be shocked if this device goes to just Sprint, seeing as that any CDMA device goes to VZW first and then Sprint, or is released by both at the same time at very worst. I can't really seeing the Big Red letting Sprint take an exclusive on this if it is indeed a CDMA device.
