Thread: New BlackberryOS IM poll - Remove/Keep

I would like to get some poll results here in regards to the new IM at the bottom of the screen. Should we keep it or remove it?

It's fantastic IMO. I would love to see it stay.

I'm a little mixed on my opinion regarding this. On one hand it does get more people to use it. But overall in my opinion, it's not as easy to use as the previous ajax IM. Specifically I don't like how narrow the IM windows are. There is no time stamp. And just overall a little on the difficult side to use. But like I said, it does get more people to use it.

I would love for it to stay, but may be add more options, such as: enable/disable, ability to invite people other than friends, etc.

I barley even notice it there although I don't use it, It doesn't bother me either way. (No friends, j/k)

i think it is a great way for members to communicate and if you dont care to be bothered at any point in time, there is always an option to go on invisible

I use it all the time! I think its great! I just think some of the bugs need to be worked out of it!

I third that. I'm on it everyday. I do whish there's away to shut it off when I'm on opera. It works great for me althoug would like to chat with someone with adding them as a friend. Less of a hastle you no.

I've played with is a fair bit over the past few days and it's a great idea! I will agree it needs a little tweaking. Time stamp and maybe a larger window would be a great start.

I am not a big IM person but I will admit this is much better than my PM box filling up or filling up someones. There are a couple bugs I don't like such as conversations not following me around if I have multiple tabs open, and sometime if you get an IM but click like new posts that IM will not carry over, and it doesn't show who sent.

But other than that it is a quick way to communicate

That's one of the reasons I prefer the old IM. Another part of it is I easily forget about if I am in another tab that isn't BBOS. If I have an IM up and I'm in another tab, and they send me a message, there's no notification like there is if you have the IM window minimized.

I wish it was based off a Jabber server so I could just add it to my desktop IM client.
