BlackBerryOS.com, a 3 month journey
Hello members! I received this article from BlackBerryOS and wanted to share it with everyone here at BlackBerryOS.com. Thank you for your continued support of BlackBerryOS.com. We look forward to seeing you in this constantly growing site.
How was BlackberryOS thought of? Created? You probably won't be to shocked when you hear that BlackberryOS was created because, well, I was lazy. Sounds stupid huh? I was tired of trying going through countless pages of posts to try and find an active download link for a leaked OS. So I decided to provide a place where I would have all the leaked OS for all models so I did not have to spend hours trying to look for one when I needed it. It would also help out every one else. However, I did not have the name of BlackberryOS yet. It was just a single page on one of my other sites. Once word got out about the page, in the first month I was hitting 250 gigs of bandwidth. I was shocked. I did not think it would be that big of a hit.
That's when I thought of the idea of creating a .com site for all the leaked operating softwares. The last week of January was spent writing down site names and deciding which one would fit the best. There were probably 50 or so site names written on the paper. Then it was decided. Since our main intention is to provide people the leaked OS's at one place, that is one when the name BlackberryOS was born.

So in the beginning of Feb. I started coming up with ideas for a design / layout. Being completely new to this, I did not have much experience when it came to a design. What I had in my mind for a design would cost a bit which was not an option for me then. We came up with a design to just get it up so I can at least start with content. I was able to get some help from one or two members on another site and we started to add content to it. Quickly I realized it was not going to work out with the way it was going. After some thinking and decision making I decided to try creating an actual Blackberry website. Knowing I would be starting off in a world with huge sites such as Crackberry.com and Pinstack.com, I still went through with it. After some thinking and decision making, BlackberryOS.com was born. You can see in the image to the right what the original BlackberryOS.com main page looked like. Nothing like how we are now huh. It was a beginning and a starting point. However, in the first month we were able to drive in traffic and keep the traffic coming. We were only a simple forum based site with nothing else.
Only having a simple forum site was not going to cut it. The layout, the design, the colors, they were just not cutting it. If BlackberryOS.com were to attempt to keep traffic coming and gain new members, it needed some work. Some major work. That's when the decision was made, only a month and half open, BlackberryOS.com took new ownership. Wyman & Co was now in control, with the ability to make BlackberryOS.com bigger and better at all costs. We then went on a huge make over with the suggestions from our members and with the final product pleasing everyone.
In three months, BlackberryOS went from a single page to a 5,000 member and growing site. One of the major changes BlackberryOS went through, besides the make over was the logo. Three times to be exact before it was finalized thanks to our amazing Graphic and Design Manager.
The final stage of the make over was expanding. BlackberryOS.com was now apart of a family.
Because of all our members and the atmosphere we have at BlackberryOS.com is what makes BlackberryOS stay in the competition for being one of the top sites. We hope in another three months we can celebrate our 10,000 member milestone and be able to update this post with new memories to share. From me to you, thank you! Thank you to all our members who get the word out and keep this site alive. Thank you to all the team members for creating and providing a friendly and helpful environment.
Thank you ALL and can't wait to celebrate at 10,000 members.
Thank You,
Brett
