Share Your Social Networks In The BlackBerryOS Forums!
We at BBOS are always trying to think of new ways to make your time while reminiscing on the site forums that much better. We understand that it's all about the community and helping each other out. We want to be able to make that easier for you, and at the same time, reward you. For example, we recently just implemented a giveaway of prizes
for those reaching site posting milestones!
As we all know, in this day and age our social networks is what connects us. Which is why we have just implemented a new feature in the BlackBerryOS forums where you can now input your social network links for others to see! That means every time you make a post, your social network icons will show in that post. Your social network links will also show in your site profile. Check out the image above to see what I'm taking about, or, just look at my details in the top right of this post.
To add your social network links, just click on the 'My Profile' link in the top right of the site, then click on 'About Me', and from that page you will see the fields you need to edit and post your social network usernames in. Click save and that's it! Now your social network links will be showing up as icons in your profile and posts.
Note: If you are having issues with any of your social links you may have to edit, add your social username, and save.
Note: You do not have to add the full link to your social profile, just enter the username and we'll do the rest (see example image below):
I hope to see more of you posting your social network links on the site so that I can also get to know you better! As always, thanks for being part of Team BlackBerry on BlackBerryOS.com! If you aren't a member, click here to get registered now!
Update: Now enter username only for Social Network profile links
Hey folks, as per the suggestion of BBOS member Sheldon in post #12 above, you now only have to enter your username into each profile field for your Social Network Links to work!
Before you had to enter in the full URL, but that's not the case anymore. However, this means that if you have already entered in a link, you will have to go back and edit the field with only your username or the link will not work.
To do this is easy. Simply click on "Settings" in the top right header bar of the site. Then in the left hand sidebar of the next page, under "My Settings" click on "Edit Profile." Now scroll down toward the bottom of the page and you will see all the text fields where you can edit all of your Social Network links. I posted a screenshot below of how I entered my social usernames, so you can see how it should be done. Any questions, let me know.
