    BeWeather Updated To v2.6.17

Living deep in the heart of Texas, there's one thing that we can never plan for: the weather. Needless to say, dressing to accommodate the weather ...is impossible. And I'm not even exaggerating. Because of this, I am always needing to stay to date with the current weather situation. For example, I've been sitting in the library and had no idea that there was a tornado nearby. How nearby? I don't know yet. Good thing I have my trusty BeWeather app! It is by far the best weather app I have ever had the pleasure of downloading on my BlackBerry and I use it dozens of time a day on average.

My trusty BeWeather app was fortunately updated earlier today to v2.6.17 and includes a fix with issues regarding background auto-updates. If you need a reliable weather app, I highly recommend BeWeather! To add to the excitement, the paid version (normally $9.99) is FREE right now, compliments of BlackBerry. Sure you can get the original BeWeather Free, but I would hop on over to App World and download the complimentary BeWeather now!

Our great friends over at Tiggit Software recently let us know of a new beta app they've released to app world. Livestation for BlackBerry SmartPhone offers live coverage from Al Jazeera, BBC World, Bloomberg, CNBC and many others at an amazing quality and completely for free! Through partnerships with these channels, you can benefit from a high quality and legal product which is fully supported by the broadcasters.

I've tried to app a few time already & the video quality was average. Personally, none of the channels really interested me, but I'm sure many of you will find a great use for this app!

Lemma For PlayBook Updated To v1.1.8

Lemma for PlayBook, one of the best free Twitter apps available to PlayBook owners via the BlackBerry App World at this time, was recently updated to version 1.1.8.

A while ago, the v1.1.2 update was released, but unfortunately if you did not already have Lemma for PlayBook installed, you weren’t able to download it, at least that was the conclusion that I had unfortunately come to. But now, that has changed! Personally, I am ecstatic. The initial Lemma for PlayBook app that came already uploaded on my PlayBook was, to put it lightly, subpar. I wasn't happy with it in the slightest. While the updates didn't bring everything I was hoping for, the improvements were still significant.

    In v1.1.2:
    • New interface, including new colors, icons and less clutter
    • Scrolling improvements on the timeline
    • Smoother transition between pages
    • Compose Tweet/Reply With Message improvements
    • Added “View In App” functionality, powered by Readability v0.4.4 algorithm
    • New user tutorial to help grasp the unique style Lemma has to offer

    Dolphin Browser For PlayBook Scandal

Ever heard of Dolphin Browser for PlayBook? In all honesty, I hadn't, that is until this huge scandal (I use the term lightly) surfaced. Apparently someone, not the developers, submitted Dolphin Browser to the BlackBerry App World and within a day of being accepted, the app was pulled after the developers were shocked to find the app in our App World that they had not submitted.

After many disgruntled PlayBook users roared in protest after the brief stint in our App World which caused many users to fall in love with its Webzine and gesture-enabled mobile browser, it luckily was quickly added right back in (this time with the approval of the developers).

Some of the other fun features that come with downloading this app include:
    • Gesture - personalize symbols you write with your finger on the screen that automatically take you to your favorite websites
    • Webzine - No ads, fast web page loading, simplified reading on mobile content (websites, blogs, news, etc.)
    • Speed Dial - With a single touch, visit your favorite sites
    • Tabbed browsing - Toggle between web pages super fast
    • SideBars - Making the best of mobile interface

Poynt For BlackBerry Updated to v1.8.6

Poynt for BlackBerry is without a doubt my go-to app. It has everything you need in terms of resources right at your finger tips. Personally, I think this is the number one app for dating guys. Why? Because of all the different aspects that Poynt offers a person. From movie times, gas prices, local businesses and directions, to weather, making dinner reservations and even searching for special offers near you, this app really allows a guy to seem even more awesome than he obviously is. So boys (and girls), if you want to impress your new lady (or man) friend, let Poynt point you in the direction of a successful relationship, or okay, a good dinner deal.

    The v1.8.6 update includes:

    • WhatGas (UK) timestamp is represented by elapsed time instead of date
    • Making reservations now available for France and Spain
    • Canadians can now search gas prices
    • Deal and offers are included inside the Restaurant tab
    • Online food ordering and menu capability in the US
    • Touchscreen models now have larger icons
    • 9790/9380 support
    • TeleNav library update
