Looks like the BlackBerry Project Manager from Beta Zone has released some new info regarding the next upcoming PlayBook OS update. It will still be a OS 1.0 update, but it will include some much needed updates before OS 2 comes around in February of next year.

The update will include:

• Daylight Savings Time: updated some time zones
• Updated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drivers improving co-existence and connectivity
• BlackBerry App World account payments reliability improvements
• Improvements to VPN connection reliability
• Addressed some scenarios where BlackBerry Desktop Software would not restore applications to the PlayBook

Its official. OS 7.0.0.474 has been released for the BlackBerry Torch 9860 from Indosat. If you have a 9860 get out that USB cord and give your device a fresh new OS. As always be sure to let us know about your findings and fixings.

Many have been wondering why there has not been a theme builder for OS 7 devices yet. There has not been much said by RIM regarding the issue other than they were working on it. Surprisingly it wasn't even revealed a DevCon this past week. Now we have a little more of an idea to why there has been a delay. A tweet from Alec Saunders, RIM's new VP of Developer Relations, states that the theme engine has been delayed because

So at least now we have some closure to why it has not been released. Hopefully the issue will get resolved soon. I am excited to see what some of the talented theme developers will come up with. Are you a theme developer just itching to create a theme for OS 7?

The day many die-hard BlackBerry fans have been waiting is finaly here, DevCon Americas 2011 in San Francisco. RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis has started off thing by officially announcing BBX during the keynote. BBX brings together the best of BlackBerry and the best of QNX into one great OS.

"With nearly 5 million BlackBerry apps downloaded daily, our customers have made BlackBerry one of the most profitable platforms for developers," said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at RIM. "At DevCon today, we're giving developers the tools they need to build richer applications and we're providing direction on how to best develop their smartphone and tablet apps as the BlackBerry and QNX platforms converge into our next generation BBX platform."

Not much information was provided right off the bat but we're expecting this to change as the event progresses.
