With the current leaked OS 7.1 releases we've been able to gain access to some pretty cool new features. One of those features is that you can now stream files straight from your BlackBerry device via Wi-Fi (Media Server) wireless connection.

RIM has been working together with (DLNA) Digital Living Network Alliance , through their dedicated hard work to make this feature available to BlackBerry OS 7.1 devices. It has been verified that this feature works, and is now available for the BlackBerry Bold, Torch, and Curve devices, with other OS 7.1 devices to follow.

I have compiled several pictures from my BlackBerry Bold 9900 into a tutorial to show everyone how to stream media successfully on their BlackBerry device. Let's get started!

One thing I dread is that horrible little black clock that randomly pops up on my BlackBerry screen, the sign that I'm pushing the limits on my poor BlackBerry Bold 9900. Sometimes, it goes away immediately, other times takes about a minute, but on one disastrous occasion, I had to completely restart my BlackBerry to get it working again. With the help of AgentBlackBerry, we've come up with a list of solutions to hopefully either fix the issue of your BlackBerry lagging or prevent it from ever becoming a problem in the first place. By enacting these few simple steps, you are guaranteed to have an even better BlackBerry experience.

    History of BlackBerry (video)

    Published on 06-26-2011 10:00 PM

We could write a pretty long article on the history of BlackBerry (and maybe we will), but isn't watching a video so much more fun? Well the great folks over at Phones4u have put together this awesome crash course video on BlackBerry's history. It's actually super well made and gives a great background view on RIM's path to what we know today as BlackBerry. I have some issues with a couple of inaccuracies like the fact that they showed a 9300 series Curve when talking about the Curve being introduced in 2006 (should've been an 8300 instead) and same with the Pearl but that's just because I nitpick about little things. Either way this video is great. Enjoy!

BlackBerry Grammar 101: BlackBerrys, BlackBerries, BlackBerry's or what?

    by
    AgentBlackBerry
    Published on 06-26-2011 05:40 PM

The fact that our favorite smartphones are named after a fruit is a little comical to some. If I had a nickel for every time I saw a "life was simpler when Apple and BlackBerry were just fruits" tweet, I'd have a lot of nickels. Jokes aside, many people refer to the plural of BlackBerry in so many different ways which, while annoying to me, is understandable because of the fact that the brand name "BlackBerry" ends in a "y". So what is the technically and grammatically correct way to pluralize our devices?

How to get Skype on your BlackBerry PlayBook

As of yet there is no native Skype app for the BlackBerry PlayBook, but there is a nice workaround that allows you to use Skype from your PlayBook by taking advantage of Adobe Flash v10.3 support in the browser. The same goes for using GTalk, Yahoo, MSN, and a few others as well. How does it work? Simply go to http://imo.im/ from your PlayBook's browser and then sign in to one of the many messaging application options.

I tried it myself, and the Skype calling works pretty good. The PlayBook's QNX microphone picked up the sound very well, and the speed was pretty fast, not much delay. Let us know if you give it a try, and how it works for you?
