Salomondrin has some news about the Blackberry Atlas, a yet to be released device that is apparently part of the Bold family. Originally it was believed that this device was to be a CDMA device. However the biggest surprises about this device is that it will actually be a GSM device and as stated before is another Bold.
These are some other known specs/ features about this some what mysterious device:
-It says BOLD on the Back above the battery door next to the camera
-The keyboard is the same as that found on the Curve 8900, which was codenamed Javelin
-This is a NON 3G device, strictly EDGE
-The camera has a flash
-There will be an optical Trackpad
That is all that is known now. As this device gets closer to being released and refined, I am sure, there will be more information available about it. In the mean time, enjoy some more pictures of the device. They aren't the greatest quality, but they are better than nothing.

Don't quote me here but I do know this is a cdma device not a GSM, just using common sense, 9700 Onyx (Bold) going to AT&T, 9700 Driftwood/onyx (Bold) going to Tmobile, does the Gsm carriers need another Bold device? Aren't they testing LTE already, then why another EDGE only device.
I just read a few short while ago on Sal's page, that this is in fact a GSM device and it part of the Bold family as I previously stated. This device has the codename Driftwood. There seemed to be quite a bit of confusion about this device and its existance, which is obviously evident just by looking at the topics of conversation in this thread, is that RIM has intended this device to target other markets such as China and East Asia to name a few. All the information on this device I have read and thus passed along through this thread has been from Salomondrin. I personally trust his word because the quality of his information is usually spot on.
