Thread: First images of the BlackBerry Bold 9790 leaked!

Have a look, fresh images of the Bold 9790 have hit your screen today! There have been a lot of rumors of a Onyx device and whether RIM would market this smaller Bold touchscreen. It now looks as though that may become reality as these images show a rather recent prototype of the device running OS 7. What do you think about the 9790 (Onyx?)? Is it your type of device?

Big question is why?
Why make this while you just announced the 9900/9930?
I think they build this to see if they can make the integration between phone and tablet better. 1 OS for all devices.
Can't imagine this being released, if ever, before 2012. Seeing the model numbers I think this should be a lower end model then the 97** line, or is it just me japping?
I love new models leaking though, but Cookie is waiting for his 9900/9930 Some nice old school 9000 look a like.

I think they want to see if a smaller Bold will appeal to the market.

I think this a waste of time, they should be working on their next gen phones that will finally run QNX. Besides a smaller screen would suck for a touch screen.

You mean that this would be a "let's see how the market reacts" model?

I think there is a lot of this that goes on. Instead of a secluded group of fanboy employees, leak a few devices and see what the masses say.

I believe it is called "running a test on Blackberry and non-Blackberry users and fanatics to see if it is worth making a buck of it, or better yet let people see "that new bb quantum infinity 12430squared," get feedback-run a simple analysis of comments from us and then make 2 bucks instead of one. Torch 5 soon? I swear someone told me it was on the way, and it has a coffee maker built in too! On that note I will stick with the 9700 I like for now and hit Starbucks. RIM then says well lets release a 6 without a coffee maker and we win. Done. Business 101..

Lol, interesting and entertaining way to put it.

The problem remains the same. The lack of creativity, and design rim should know better that smaller phones do not appeal to the masses. Let alone a smaller touch screen, its already hard enough to navigate around most touch screens.
