Thread: Storm 3 on The Horizon

Back in October, news of the Blackberry 9570 Storm 3 release was rumored to be “imminent” after a supposed Best Buy catalog image appeared. Now it looks like the Blackberry 9570 Storm 3 may just hit the market within the next month or so, if you believe more rumors from buzzbizznews.

The phone will look and work similar to the current Blackberry Torch 9800. The screen will have a new HD retina display and will be large enough to watch movies sufficiently on. The phone will be less bulky to hold, using a thinner profile. Add to that a 1GHz processor, the Storm 3 should be fast and competent, complemented by a 3.7 inch capacitive HD screen and slide-out qwerty keyboard.

Other features are believed to include a 5-megapixel camera with flash, support for 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and up to 32GB of internal storage space via a microSD card.

Some sites are saying that top U.S. analysts believe the device will be released in the beginning of 2011.

Although RIM has yet to comment on the release date of the Storm 3, major retailers in the U.S. are purportedly advertising it. Hopefully, the wait is almost over!

dont believe any of that. and the best pic that could be found was of a storm 1, really?

This would simply mean that they finally got the Storm right. I do imagine that it will not have surepress this time around.

yea i guess the third time would be the charm (hopefully) and im iffy on surepress, i really like it but it wouldnt be a deal breaker for me. but i cant stand KB devices so i'll live either way lol

This was the picture that was with the original article from bizzbuzz.....I think I like the storm 1 better...yikes???

Ah man, that is soooo fake. People will photoshop anything now for a story.

Had the previous 2 generations of Storms, and IF the rumors are true, it would so rock my socks off.. But again, it could just be more rumors :/ like the last time when I waited ssssooooooo long for a new Storm, got tired, bought a Torch =/

I don't care either way as long as its touch screen with a touch keyboard, I have had a Curve and a Bold and hate keyboards all together. I don't like the Iphone at all had it for 3 days donated it to Goodwill. I haven't had an android yet trying to hold of for the latest Verizon Rim Job, I am very comfortable with my S1 & S2. they are touchy but get the job done.

If I'm not mistaken, this photo was actually circulating a few months prior to the S2 release, and this was the S2

yes people used this pictured as the storm 2 before the released...now people are using the same picture for a storm 3. i think this is just a bad rumor. the storm 3 will not look like the torch. all very bad rumors. Most are starting to give up on the storm 3 because if RIM releases a storm 3 device in 2011 with OS 6they truly suck. They could have released an OS 6 storm this year.

I personally think somebody from RIM should at least read these forums and understand their customers better before developing or releasing ANY more devices. OS5 was supposed to fix all the problems from OS4, OS5 is at what build now? 1000 something and still not right? Oh, thats right, OS6 will fix that, and for those of you who don't want to buy new devices, you're out of luck, because you're all obsolete.
Now we have another rumor of Storm 3. Wheeeee! more new stuff to wait for while our devices still don't work, more waiting and hoping things will be better this time. Burn me once, shame on you....burn me twice, shame on me. Going IPhone or Droid on my next upgrade. Tired of waiting for reliability when it already exists elsewhere. Trading in this gremlin for a corvette.

They sold it for $50 I laughed my a$$ off and told them they could of got at least $150. Those women are pretty fun to talk to.

If you want to know why the Storm 3 hasn't surfaced yet? It needs a little more time to play nice with QNX. RIM will be turning heads with this new touch device when it releases with the QNX OS and 1 GB of RAM and a 1.2 gHz processor. How's that for jumping to the head of the class?! Not that I have heard anything or talked to anyone...or maybe I did. I believe the Storm 3 will shock BB users. More food for thought.
