Storm 9570 (3?) not cancelled after all?

Now we have some interesting news about the Storm 9570. It was previously reported that the Storm 9570 (2.5/3?) was cancelled on all carriers. Now it seems that the Storm 9570 was found in the Cellebrite system of Verizon Wireless. For those that don't know, thats the system that handles the transfer of phonebooks from one device to another. Traditionally, phones will be placed in that system before they are announced to the public. Is this proof that the 9570 lives on? I want to say no, as I remember the Bold 9650 been added and removed to Cellebrite a few times before officially being launched. Either way, do you hope to see a new Storm device rocking OS6? Are you hoping SurePress will die off? Leave us a comment with your opinion below.

Woo hoo! I can't wait. Tomorrow is my upgrade date from my 9530, she's still running strong and quite reliable. I'm anxious to get a new Storm 9570, even if its just a refresh, its gonna be quite a step up for us 9530 users. It has been rumored for late November so I guess we will see. I'm even starting to think of just waiting for a QNX device. Been with this one for so long what's a few more months? More than likely I will get this Storm. NEVER LEAVING BLACKBERRY!!!

It will have the specification of a dinosaur on release, imagine how outdated it will be when someone gets to the end of their 2 year contract!

My sentiments exactly. If I do get this(which I know I won't), I wouldn't waste an upgrade on it. Simple reason being, it's not really an upgrade.

I don't want OS 6 on my BlackBerry because it's outdated. Hopefully they can produce a QNX OS for a next month release. We know they've been working on it over a year. It could happen. It seems RIM normally releases devices once a year from the Bold,Curve,Storm. So I couldn't see RIM releasing a refresh and then releasing an QNX OS 5-6 months later. Die hard BB fans have watched the playbook and we know that the QNX OS will be on future berries so most would try to wait for the QNX OS. I don't think a refresh would sell well. Why is RIM still releasing new devices with 5.0???

I would laugh hard at anyone who bought the 9570 or any device running Os6 cause more then likely qnx won't go on them, lol again though my hats off to rim because when they release these new phones everyone will cry and be mad again cause they will have an out dated phone

It doesn't really matter what os is going to be on the next storm, 6.0 which will be nothing but a refresh, or QNX. If it's QNX great, we have a new cutting edge os. But really, in 1-2 years QNX will be outdated. This is technology, and as such, it's outdated 1-2 years after it's released. Look at computers, laptops, and yes, even smartphones.

We started out with 4.7 then 5.0, now we're into 6.0 and QNX on the horizon. This has all happened in the last 3-4 years.

If you always waited for the next greatest thing coming out, you'd never have a phone. Like Josh said, its technology and you can't keep up with it.

I am t..a..i...r...e...d (tired) of waiting for confirmed word on a new release for the Storm 3. The frustration runs deep as I hang onto the current S2. I would like to think that RIM is moving forward with plans to release an awsome system in conjunction with the Playbook and QNX OS so all can be put to bed. Still a supporter....for now.....the BBOS community is still a good place to be a part of.

Obviously everything goes out of date eventually, but to use the PC analogy. I just built myself a new PC, however my old one was still running Windows 7 and Office 10 with minimum lag. It was almost 10 years old!

The reason it did so well, was that I built it with specifications that would handle updates, past the 10 month mark! - Unlike the Storm 2.

I did the same with my new PC.

Who would be crazy enough to go out and buy a brand new, minimum requirement, outdated specification PC?

I Have A feeling That the 9570 will be Released "GreaT" an the GSM Version Also. THEN RIM will Also release A CDMA Version of a Slider type phone like the Torch but in Landscape pop out keyboard to me the name Torch will continue to be named since theirs a gsm bold and a CDMA BOLD .

Makes Since to me. But TIME will Tell! IM Curious to know What Carrier Will Receive A QNX BASED Firmware/software First

I'm sure Verizon will receive the QNX OS first since it's been seen on the Storm.

i think the torch2 will have QNX first, but i want this S3 with perfect SurePress technology, OS6. I do not mean to brag but i have the $$$. i care less if people say its not a cool refresh. I still want it, i know other's wouldn't mind too.

Bring on the CDMA & GSM Version

With the sales that the torch has put up, and having played with one, I honestly don't think we'll see a torch 2. Especially if we see the S3 soon.

Our BB Rep at work has said that this will not be coming to the UK, the major networks over here are not keen on the idea of brining out another product under the Storm branding after 2 failed attempts.

I want the S3 with QNX, and a playbook. I want to be able to tether them and I want to see apple disappear overnight.

I'll take 2 of the three or one of the three...you figure it out.

(Don't want all 3, don't want to come off as being too greedy!!)
