Storm 3 Rumored to Release in November
With the news on several blogs that the Storm 3 has been canceled just doesn't seem true to me. I found an article today stating that the Storm 3 is scheduled to release in November. I wish RIM would work harder to get the the QNX Storm out!
Storm 3 and Playbook to give RIM a boost
Being a month away , I am psyched to see what the final verdict is.
Will they do something? Only time will tell.

I'm thinking with the recent acquisition of QNX, its too early to see it in a new storm released in November. I'm thinking the same time frame as the playbook. If anything, what gets released in November will be a S2 refresh. It's Christmas so RIM will release something but no where what we want.
My contract with Bell is up this month but I think I'll wait to March / April timeframe to see what, if anything, gets released as far as the Storm family goes.
My contract been up since June & I'm trying to hang in there hoping for a new Storm. Itching to get either a HTC device or dare I say it, an iPhone. Want to stick with something that I've grown to love, but I keep getting disappointed. They need to either release something real soon or let us know that they're indeed working on one.
I've been thinking of this for awhile now, particularly with mixed rumors heating up about the existence of a S3. If we go back in the forums from when the S1 was rumored to being released, then the actual release and ongoing improvements, we see the same speculation of the S1 being released if at all.
Without a doubt, the iphone (no machine gun today, this is on a serious note) is probably the biggest competitor to the storm. Android is catching up at a fast rate but isn't there yet. That being said, RIM does see this, they do after all have a marketing department that has been modeled in other businesses.
RIM knows that the Storm series is the future of they're product. All of technology is making the big shift to touchscreens. It's easier to use once you get use to it, is much more ascetically pleasing, and just plain looks better than a physical keyboard.
The Torch was in my opinion, a stop gap measure only. I really don't believe RIM thought it was going to be the iphone killer. That tag came from the press and market analysts. I see 1 of 2 things happening here.
1) RIM has the new S3 and is ready to release it late November. This will come with the QNX operating system and will truly be the iphone killer. And Android for that matter. Although just acquiring QNX, there might have been just enough time to incorporate the QNX os. Waiting for November / December is strictly a marketing ploy that also buys RIM some time to work out the bugs. Release a new BB this close to Christmas and sales are going to be alot greater as opposed to releasing it sooner.
2) The S3 is not ready due to being not enough time to incorporate the QNX os, and we get an S2 refresh. This is a mistake I think on Rim's behalf. They will only succeed in pissing alot of user's off that are almost if not already there, with having contracts expire. A refresh will only drive more people to the Android. RIM will then release the S3 with the playbook, either shortly before or after, depending on the hype.
In any event, RIM will be releasing an S3, and it will have the QNX operating system. The $64 000 question is when. RIM is not known for teasing little tidbits, and I'm thinking with past leaks, knowing the people that I do know that have been hired to beef up RIM's internal security, we will not see any leaks about this one. This will truly be the iphone killer, and as such, wee will learn next to nothing until it is released and advanced notice goes out to the carriers.
I now pass the soap box off to the next person :beerchug:
I think you should wait. Iphone and RIM are rumored to release newer devices. Iphone 4G is real close. Verizon announced the Ipad so it's just a matter of time they announce the Iphone 4G. Verizon 4G is in my area according to Verizon's website. I'm expecting the Storm 4 to be 4G so I will wait.
