Is the Storm3 on Hold for LTE?

GizmoFusion.com is reporting that the BlackBerry Storm3 release date may be pushed back some because of the Verizon's LTE launch. There are two rumored launch dates being floated around. One being May 2011 around the time of the RIM's annual WES conference, and the other date is November 2011. Why the two dates? Apparently it all depends on how well Verizon's LTE roll out goes.

In my option, the BlackBerry Storm3 has to be the device that will compete with the iPhone and Android offerings if RIM wants to really compete and keep a foothold in the consumer market. I really hope RIM will ditch the current platform and build something biased on the QNX platform which should elevate the performance of the Storm3, this would allow RIM to completely start over with the OS and not carry around the baggage of supporting older devices. I think we may get a glimpse of what RIM has in mind for the future when the BlackBerry tablet is released since it is rumored to be biased on the QNX platform.

What are you thought about the BlackBerry Storm3? Do you think this needs to be a game changer for RIM?

I think ending it on the "And I pray that we will never grow apart" will definitely complete the poem, as opposed to your original ending which sounds like something is missing. Overall though great poem!

The CEO of RIM already said we will see QNX on our future BlackBerrys. I don't want RIM to release another product with 5.0 OS and they are still doing it. Didn't the new curve release with 5.0? the 9330 and the new Pearl. I don't know why Verizon would need to wait on 4G because according to their website 4G is in 38 major cities including my area so they just need to release a 4G BlackBerry now. Sprint released 4G when it was smaller coverage. As long as the phone will go back to 3G in areas 4G is not covered they should release.

my guess is that storm 3 wont be till november 2011 and the rumor date of march 2011 is going to be the torch like phone for verizon

I'm really over waiting for Storm 3 to release. We can't even surf the net properly with OS 5. The more RIM delays this device the more I'm annoyed. We are now hearing rumors that the Playbook release date has been pushed back so I can imagine the same with the Storm 3. Most people would have left RIM by the time the storm 3 is released and with RIM's track record it will probably be released with OS 6 which is nothing more than OS 5 with a new theme. I'm a true BlackBerry fan but I'm being pushed to Android because I don't see any new BlackBerry devices.
