    New BlackBerry Device 9670?

What is BlackBerry thinking? A clam shell style device? How far behind in time is RIM actually? It looks like the 9630, 8530 and the Pearl Flip merged into one, which will get you the 9670. Either way, it's solid evidence thanks to BGR that there is a clam shell device in the works. It's also the very first device to be pictured running the new OS 6.0. Of course it is going to be a CDMA device so we'll see this popping out of Verizon and Sprint at some point. Also comes with a 5 megapixel camera. What do you guys think of this new design?

that could be a good move, not everyone wants a touch screen or slide up device, i know a lot of construction workers that will love this.:1244:

Its Fugly! But it kind of makes sense. I like the large screen on the front. And the rubber convenience keys. This is just making me more and more excited about 6.0. BRING IT ON RIM!

The best thing about those pics are how they show more of OS 6.0.

What is RIM thinking with this? It looks like a tweenage girls perfect phone. This would have been hot stuff back when the RAZRs were going strong. (Channels inner T-Mobile commercial) "It's a BlackBerry that flips closed..."

I tend to agree this will be a hit among certain demographics. I usually leave my phone in the truck because I'm crawling around server rooms, machinery, etc. and the 9550 is a little too vulnerable. This may be just what some people are looking for.

FAIL! Don't like it at all. If you are concerned about durability, just pick up an Otterbox Defender. It just looks awkward. From the looks of it, 6.0 will be amazing, but I want a touch screen slider.

That's what you get when a blackberry has sex with an lg lotus. Will be a hit with teens and soccer moms. I would never own it. I like the secondary screen, wonder if it would have the option to customize it so you could view appointments without opening the phone.

Best part, 6.0 is on the way!

This was the article's titled on Engadget Mobile:

BlackBerry 9670 flip spotted running OS 6.0, causes eyes to bleed, children to cry :17:

I have to agree with that statement. Lol

I think it is a great idea as it hits a different market, the construction world. There are millions of labor workers that may have not used a blackberry device for work because it was to gentle for the everyday use around the elements of the job. I know personally many people that never bought a blackberry because of this. This phone offers a protective flip feature along with more complexity than that of the pearl flip. I think RIM wants a piece of the labor world.

Well....I am done with Blackberry/RIM in aboot a 2 months or so. They are focusing way to much on new devices then other serious issues which irks me (I hope I don't have to explain myself but will).

This doesn't mean that I despise RIM and BlackBerries, just its time to move on. I will still keep my BlackBerry 9630 Tour as a sentimental device and I know plenty of people/friends who this style would so work for (on topic this time...lulz).

Brief explanation of why I'm frustrated with RIM.

    • BIS downtime
    • BBM lag spikes
    • Trunicated email
    • BlackBerry Native Browser
    • RAM/Processor
    • Storage
    • Etc...

    Rant done

OS 6.0 looks like it might be fun. The 9670 AIN'T my thing. Functionality first, "sexiness" second. The phone is not sexy...at all!
