As some others have said OS 6.0 is looking pretty darn sexay!

Unfortunatly that device makes me throw up a little everytime I see it.

Its so god awful I can't really do justice to how disgusting that piece of shit really is.

OS 6.0 on that pile of dung is like lipstick on a dead rotting pig.

I think this device has real potential if made a little more "sexy" like mirren has stated. The clam shell device is big for people who have problems with keeping thier screen safeguarded.

Outside of that... Give me 6.0 on a bold 9650 and I will be a happier fella. I am not a fan myself of this flip/clam shell look, or for its purpose.

I think that RIM is trying to roll with the times here... Good try... but the 'real' followers are not going to really leap after this one... SORRY RIM... this is #fail...

Well RIM is also playing it smart as well...The hot topic is now OS 6.0. I can't see them making a 6.0 for current devices, this way people would need to upgrade to their newer devices or purchase their newer devices creating more revenue for RIM.

As much as I say I dislike it, I know I'll end up getting one to try out.

Don't know why so much people don't like this clamshell concept...
I do- but it needs a little polishing( sharper edges, more chrome or some other shiny metal, bigger internal screen, more razr like overall...) This is too much shell-ish, and reminds me of last century stuff- yeah, the 90's....

You have got to be kidding me!!!!

The rest of the cell phone world is coming up with sleek, innovative, nice handsets, and then we have rim, who in their infinite wisdom decided to come up with this piece of crap clamshell device, wake up rim this is the reason apple, and android will be kicking the crap out of you by the end of the year.

And by the way, I own and love my BB 9000, if this is all you can come up with hello Android.:aargh4:

If this is the way RIM is going a lot of people are going to get pissed; namely Storm users again.....and all the other Blackberry users as well. It doesnt make sense that RIM will lock out its own users to their product. I hope it at least gets to the 8900 :/

That depends on what you consider newer devices. Anything below the 8330 was not slated to get 5.0. If say a device like the Storm 9550 was not slated to get OS 6.0 I think you would see a wholesale revolt. How can they roll out a new OS (if what the BGR is saying is correct) in June or July and not have it be usable on the 9550. That is what 8 months after the release of the 9550. If companies can not be relied on to support a device with newer software 8 months after its release then I would have to say its time to stop supporting that company. They are working on getting the higher Android builds on the G1 for god sakes.

If 6.0 was not coming to the 9550 I would leave RIM overnight. I can get an EVO on an awesome plan for an awesome price, and it would be adios Research in SLOW Motion.

I do believe that OS 6.0 will be coming to the 9550, RIM wouldn't be that stupid.

I have to agree. RIM would dig their grave with a move like that. No way the newer devices won't get 6.0.

If RIM doesn't bring 6.0 and webkit to the 9630 I will jump off this ship so fast. It's bad enough they made my phone obsolete in less than a year and haven't supported it very well since it's release. No Webkit and 6.0 would be the final straw for me.

    Looks durable

Exactly what I was thinking. My husband is always on service calls with his Roadside tire service. This looks durable enough for him and not so vulnerable to where he'd be scared to drop it, like the storm. It's more compact than the other blackberries, ( 9700, tour) and this would definitley have me buying him a blackberry. I know he'd love it. I think it's cool that RIM is looking at different demographics to plug their phones, not everyone wants their blackberry for social networking, but having a blackberry makes you look more professional imo...lol...it's the business phone!! Way to go RIM, on expanding your horizons! :07:
