Thread: Blocking Phone Numbers

There are some sites in New Jersey that are going around the "Do not Call Lists" and spamming cell phones. Most have 201 area codes.

If you want to block them from calling or any one else up to 10 numbers free do the following for Verizon:
Go to Verizon.com and log in to your account. Go to Usage Controls. On the left there is a box labeled "Spam Controls" Click on it and select your phone number(s). Type in the phone number you wish to block and hit Apply.
They only block them for 90 days, so if they start again you will have to repeat the process.

If you have a "Family Plan with shared numbers, and one party is over using their allotment, you can also designate when they get cut off so the other phones will still have mins left. (teenagers)

Works great pain. I never knew that was there. I have a pesky number that calls me all the time that I have been wanting to block. Callblocker still shows a missed call and I would rather not even know they called.

Thank you pain ... I had previously created a contact called Blocked and set a silent mp3 ringtone to it. The phone would vibrate, but no annoying call.

This is a GREAT tip!

Nice find! I'll be sure to use this one, because I don't know anybody who lives in New Jersey, but they seem to know me.

Just another tip if you call vzw and tell them that this is happening, and they get enough reports of it. they will file lawsuit against the company spamming their customers. they have done this in the past.
