Is there a way to have the time showing on the Playbook screen - discreet and always on top?

It doesn't look as if it is possible then?

I haven't. I'm afraid. I see the time on the home screen but I was hoping for a clock overlaying other screens, perhaps floating.

The only thing I can think of that may be close to what you are looking for is if you swipe down from the top left corner of your device and you can check on the time while in a app.
