    Change Blackberry ID

I've just bought a second-hand (virtually brand-new and unused) Playbook for my wife to stop her from using mine all the time. It has now just dawned on me that we can't make any purchases of apps without changing the ID details from those of the previous owner as we don't know her password. Is there any way for a second owner to create a new ID without obtaining the first owner's password . I appreciate that, for anti-theft reasons, this won't be an easy process and I know I will probably be able to get the necessary info from the previous owner in due course but I would be very grateful meantime for any advice on how to overcome this problem. My wife is desperate to start using the Playbook as a book-reader which, of course , she can't do till we install the appropriate app which I have on my machine. I can't imagine we're the first people to have encountered this situation so I'm hoping some of the experts here will be able to help us.
    best regards

Do a security wipe on the PlayBook and start again as if it were brand new. That's the only way.

Format it, it won't go without formatting. It happened with me as well. when i purchased it, my bother logged in with his id and now i need to change it back to mine. So i tried doing this but couldn't find anything so i formatted it. Even the restore to factory settings didn't work on mine(you may try that as well). Also you have this second hand device, it's better to clean it off internally.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I wasn't able to contact the previous owner but I did speak to a friend who knew the lady and he told me the name of her pet cat. Guess what - it was the password. Problem solved.
