Deployed 2.0.0.4869 - Missing AppWorld and native apps

Purchased a 64GB PB recently, I managed to successfully downgrade the OS to 2.0.0.4869.
Having done this is find that I have 3 apps, the browser and 2 games.
How do I get AppWorld installed and the other native apps?
Any help would be much appreciated, struggling to find a way forward.
Note - I don't want to upgrade to the latest OS, may wish to root at some point.
    Thanks in advance

How did you downgrade? Downgrading if not done carefully can brick your PlayBook. In your case, you have hit the bug where you are missing App World and native apps. This is a 'type of brick' as you have limited usage in your device. I would suggest against rooting and using the latest OS. You can fix this by doing a repair using blackberry desktop software to repair your device but it will upgrade you to the latest os...

    Appreciate your response.
I used cpf to load and reset the PB without issue - The PB was fresh out the box, I didn't allow an over the air update to complete as per the suggested process.

Surprised therefore to experience the issue.
You suggest against using the latest OS? 2.0.1.xxx i believe? But a repair will do just that?
Any value in pushing out a slightly updated OS and then downgrading again?

Appreciate your comments thus far and further advice you may be able to give.

Sorry let me clairfy, I suggest against rooting and suggest you to use the latest os. There is no real tangable benefits to rooting your PlayBook, in addition, rooting your PlayBook damages your warranty and potentially can make your PlayBook unusable.

    Understood, appreciate your response.
From my side, I was under the impression that .4869 gives me the ability to sideload a great number of android apps. This is my primary goal. Not particularly interested in rooting as i'm unclear on the benefits?

So I'd prefer to stay with .4869 but as you'd expect would like to get the native apps working.

An alternative tab may be on the cards.....

Rooting process CAN enable you sideload more apps AFTER you installed Andriod OS onto your device. If you are looking to sideload andriod apps on this list (List Of Working PlayBook BAR Files) you can do so without rooting process and the latest official OS is the best and most stable version to sideload these apps.
